Our Story

Crossroads has been in operation as a community anchor organisation since 1968, delivering youth and community development work across the Gorbals and Govanhill areas of Glasgow. Over recent years we have become acutely aware of the added vulnerability that climate change brings to communities, particularly those already facing disadvantage.

Our Mission

The opportunity to be involved in the Creative Climate Project, spearheading positive climate action at grassroots level was an opportunity to good to miss. We hold firm in our belief that addressing the climate crisis can only be done in the context of acknowledging the inequalities that exist within and across communities.

Our Vision

Crossroads vision is for a thriving community, one where every person has access to the material means necessary to live a flourishing life.

With this is mind, climate justice should go hand in hand with social justice – ensuring every individual and community can thrive in environments that are set up to support both nature and people to flourish.
